International Internships Program

Are you interested in working in the United States and having an international job experience on agricultural research?

UAA-US helps honduran students graduated from UNAG to pursue short term internships in the US, usually they can be from 3 to 6 months where the intern will be able to join a research lab to obtain experience in agricultural research

Every intern will receive a montly stipend to cover their expenses during their intership, also they can be self-funded

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicant should be able to communicate in English, both verbal and written. English level will be measured based on an online interview.
  • Applicant must be a current UNAG student or graduate.
  • Applicant must have a minimum GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.00 on a scale of 4.0 (80% or higher). Lower GPA might be accepted.
  • Driver license/Driving skills. If applicable for the position.
  • The final candidates are responsible for the cost of health insurance, visa/SEVIS fees, and flight tickets. They are also responsible for costs incurred at the beginning of the program until the first paycheck is received, usually within 30 days.

  • Provide your curriculum vitae (CV) in English (limited to 2 pages). Include your personal information, contact information, educational experience (high school and university level), work experience, extracurricular activities, awards/ achievements, skills, etc. in bullet form (please do not include diploma scans).
  • Your CV should include two professional references from current UNA faculty or your employer. (shortlisted candidates will then have to submit letters of recommendation).
  • A personal statement of maximum 500 words is required. Explain why you are interested in this position and define your professional goals at short and long term.
  • Provide a copy of your academic transcript. You can upload a Spanish or English version

Internships currently available

Internship in Plant Pathology

The intern selected will learn/assist with routine molecular diagnostics for diverse samples, including isolation of plat pathogens, DNA extraction, conduct PCR, gel electrophoresis, RPA and qPCR. 

The intern is expected to work closely with the primary lab technician, and graduate students to assist in sample collection and processing.
